This is the Alchemy Gothic Stryx pendant - part of Alchemy's Spring 2016 line.
Companion to Athena the Greek goddess of wisdom, and an intimately close escort into The Underworld. In Ancient Roman mythology, the owl also had a darker aspect, being considered synonymous with the stryx, a type of vampire that fed on human flesh and blood. An antiqued and polished pewter, articulated necklace of a stylised owl-like creature with a giant purple crystal body and separate, deeply modelled wings.

The metal used in the manufacture of all Alchemy's pewter products is the highest grade, 92% tin alloy, (to BSS5140 standard), known as "English Pewter". Some manufacturers misleadingly use the term 'pewter' to describe alloys containing lead. This results in inferior, more easily made products which are heavier, softer and of a darker colour, and are much more prone to tarnishing and disfigurement. This WILL NOT happen with Alchemy Gothic jewelry.
