Antique Victorian Red Black Silk Bodice PRESTINE Large Size

This is an antique Ladies bodice from the Edwardian or Victorian era. Dates anywhere from the 1890's to 1910. It is black silk fabric with black lace around the neck and a blood red silk lining at the neckline. The bodice has boning inside with full mutton sleeves. Gorgeous pleated cuffs. There are black metal hooks inside to close, all are likely original.
This is in absolute prestine condition! It's quite remarkable how well this held up being over 100 years old. Whoever owned this really treasured it and took great care storing it. There are no holes at all in the black silk and no signs of the fabric fraying. The only area I found a couple of split areas was in the red silk, though it's under the lace so you don't even see it. The black silk fabric appears to be of a thicker substance than the red which is likely why it held up so well.
The other great thing about this bodice is that it is not teeny tiny, it's a size that an actual modern size woman could wear today! The bust area measures approx 42" around and the waist 34" around.
This would be perfect for a gothic modeling shoot or to add to your Victorian collection.

The photos don't begin to do this justice - email me if you would like to see more.
