This is an antique Ladies capelet from the Edwardian or Victorian era. Dates anywhere from the 1890's to 1910? It is made from what appears to be black beaver fur and trimmed in a black curly fur - perhaps lamb fur? It has a gorgeous rusty brown silk quilted lining and five original hooks down the front to close.  I don't see any worn spots or holes at all in this! The only issue I can find is that the curly black fur trim is fragile and is coming off in spots, but is still long and plush in most spots!
This is a gorgeous example of Victorian Mourning clothing and would be perfect with a corset, re-enactment costuming or to add to your Victorian clothing collection.
