His pieces range from delicate fairies and pixies to mythical creatures and monsters. Statues, clocks, mirrors, wall sconces, incense burners, etc, etc. The essence of the earth really shines through in the rustic finish on each.
He started the sculptural work in 1995. In the early 1990's, Jason also worked as a Special Effects artist for several movies while living in Los Angeles. He was also involved in SFX work on a doomed video game project called "Zelda's Adventure" for the equally doomed "Philips CDI" platform.
Each piece is a hand-painted, natural stone casting of an original sculpture that he makes using a combination of stone and clay, or in some cases, wood and clay. The casting stone used is an all-natural mixture of materials found either in, or on, the Earth. One such ingredient is volcanic ash. He then paints, by hand, each piece individually. This, coupled with other finishing techniques, makes each one unique. At no point during the process is any type of power tool or synthetic chemical used. All sculptures are integrated with a galvanized steel loop for safe and effortless mounting. ABSOLUTELY NO resins, plastic or plaster are used in these designs. These look like they were carved right from the earth! Each piece is personally signed & dated on the back by Jason.
